Find a Christian College. Inc.

The week of September 10th through the 15th, our students will have the opportunity to visit with professional admission personnel from over 50 Christian colleges and universities from all over the nation-all under one roof and for FREE!

Students and their parents can benefit tremendously from attending one of the Free Christian College Recruiting events. Each event is only 90 minutes long. There are six (6) different locations throughout greater Houston to choose from.

The students and parents choose which college session to attend, but I would suggest that you take advantage of the evening sessions. This will avoid missing important school time. I will have resource manuals available in the College Room after Labor Day. Please call or e-mail me if you have questions. www.findachristiancollege.org

Please feel free to contact us with any questions; we can be reached by phone at
1-800-BAYLOR-U, option 1-1, at 254-710-3435, or by e-mail

Top Five Things You need to Know About Baylor Admission Services!

  1. We are on a Rolling Admissions System
We do not have a set deadline, however we recommend that students submit their applications before March 1 of their senior year. Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a space-available basis. Students may submit their applications as early as September 1 of the senior year. Files will be reviewed as soon as they are considered complete. In order to have a complete file we need these four things:
    1. Baylor application (paper or online form)
    2. $35 fee or fee waiver
    3. SAT or ACT scores from the testing agency or with an official testing label on the transcript
    4. High school transcript that includes GPA and class rank (if your school does not rank please include a school profile or a letter stating the school policy)

  2. Application Fee Waivers

Students are eligible for an application fee waiver if they have received a fee waiver for the SAT or ACT or if you deem the application fee to be financially challenging to the family. Please send us a written letter stating this to be true.

  3. SAT and ACT requirements and school codes
Baylor does not have set minimum requirements for admissions. However, ninety-three percent of Baylor students rank in the top half of their high school class, and their average test scores are 1180 for SAT and 24-25 for ACT.

  4. Premiere Dates

We have open house weekends three times throughout the year. This is the best time for students to get a true taste of what Baylor campus life is like

    Fall Premier - September 27-28, 2002
    Winter Premier - January 24-25, 2003
    Spring Premiere - April 25-26, 2003

In addition, students may schedule a campus tour Monday through Friday through the Visitors Center. They can be reached by calling
1-800-BAYLOR-U, option 1-2 or see Mrs. Pickens for an application.

  5. Scholarships and Financial Aid

We will send out a Student Aid Estimator in the fall. This form is used to estimate the student's eligibility for student financial aid. Our merit based scholarships are based on SAT or ACT score in addition to the student's class rank. Please have them call the Office of Academic Scholarships and Financial Aid if they have specific questions at, 1-800-BAYLOR-U, option 8-2

SFA announces new admission requirements for freshmen applicants which was approved by the SFA Board of Regents.

Effective for the fall 2003 semester, freshmen applicants will be required to meet the following new rank-in-class and standardized test score requirements:

Quarter
SAT
ACT
1st
No Minimum Score
2nd
850
18
3rd
1050
23
4th
1250
28

In addition, applicants will be required to complete the Recommended or Distinguished Achievement Program. Students from accredited private high schools and out-of-state high schools will be required to complete a curriculum similar to the Recommended High School Program.

Admission files of applicants who do not meet the new admissions requirements will be individually reviewed. The intent of the review process is to identify applicants who have the potential for academic success at SFA. For this reason, a holistic approach will be taken to determine eligibility. Applicants in this category should submit Par II of the common application, as this information will assist in the review process.

Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG) is the only branch campus of Texas A&M University. Today, about 1,600 Aggies at the Galveston campus are seeking bachelor and graduate A&M degrees in a broad variety of ocean-oriented programs. Although TAMUG is well known for its marine science programs, its challenging business, transportation, engineering and liberal arts programs offer many opportunities that are not found in other Texas public universities.

Housing is available on campus for about 600 students, and near the campus for an additional 200 students. Students are encouraged to apply early for TAMUG admissions and housing.

More information about TAMUG's admission requirements, on-campus housing, and scholarships can be obtained at the TAMUG website at http://www.tamug.edu .
