Margaret Kerstens
- Chair
Margaret and her husband Martin have a son
who graduated from NCA in 2007 and two sons atttending NCA
in third and sixth grade.

Karen and her husband Mark have a daughter in
seventh grade and a son in second grade.

and his wife Lisa have a daughter in the seventh grade and a
son in the tenth grade.

Victor and his wife Maritza have had four sons
atttend and graduate from NCA. One son has returned to NCA
as a teacher.

Q.
How may I attend Board meetings?
Parents are invited to attend all Board meetings. Meetings are
held in the teacher’s lounge at the school. See meeting schedule
at the top of the Board web page
Q. How
can I address the Board or get on the agenda?
Individuals wishing to address the Board/get on the agenda are
asked to e-mail the Board at Board@nca-kingwood.org at least two
weeks in advance of the posted meeting times located on the top
of the Board web page. Margaret Kerstens, Chair, or Karen Crump,
Vice-Chair, will communicate the approval of your request and will
indicate the designated time for you to arrive to address Board
members.
You may also e-mail the Board any concerns or issues as needed
at the above e-mail address.
Q.
What is the role of the Board of Trustees?
A. Northeast Christian Academy is governed by up to 7 authorized
members whose primary responsibility is to set policy and priorities
of the school. Also, a primary responsibility of the Board is to
ensure proper fucadiary processes are in place for continuous operation
and fiscal soundness exist for setting tuition. They are parents
and are volunteers who serve without pay.
Q. Where can I read about Board policy
and get information about meetings?
A. Complete Board policy is available in the school library. You
may read about the Board’s operating procedure in the policy
manual. The dates of our Board meetings are posted on the Web site.
Q. How are Board members selected?
A. The Board consists of parents with enrolled students at NCAor
former students.. Potential Board members are brought to the Board
via a Nominating Committee or the Board itself may function as the
Nominating Committee or a parent may make their interest known to
a Board member. The Nominating Committee is responsible for determining
whether a potential candidate possesses a skill the Board needs,
understands the commitment that accompanies Board service and is
willing to have the candidate considered by the full Board. Each
nominee is asked to give a personal testimony of their faith in
Christ prior to the Board considering membership on the Board.
