Frequently Asked Questions

What colleges do your graduates attend?
Students in the past few years have attended University of Texas, Tecas A&M, Embry Riddle, St. Edwards, Calvin College, U. S. Air Force Academy, Rice, Stanford, Duke, Baylor, Haverford, Amhurst, Rhodes, Oral Roberts University, just to name a few.
Do your students wear uniforms?
Yes, the uniform dress code is intended to create an atmosphere free from distraction. In addition, it serves to dispense with competition due to outward appearance and affluence, de-emphasizes outward appearance in favor of inner beauty and character, serves as an economy measure for parents, enhances school spirit, and allows students to demonstrate submission to authority.
Does NCA have an athletic program?
Absolutely, Northeast Christian Academy has a well established history of excellence in athletics. We compete in TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Paraochial Schools) and have won 11 state championships in the last eight years. Students can choose from ten different sports on the high school level and six sports on the middle school level.
Do you provide after school care?
Yes. In today's busy world it is not always possible to pick up your students at 3:00 pm. NCA has an extended care program to provide adult supervision until 6:00 pm everyday. There is an additional cost associated with this service.
What are the criteria used to make an admissions decision?

There are three areas that are considered by the admissions committee:
1. Families who are growing in their personal walk and are involved in a local church community. At least one parent must be a professing, practicing Christian.
2. Students must be able to handle the academic work expected of them. Each student must score at grade level or above and have a proven track record of academic success.
3. Student recommendations must show that a student has a history of exhibiting the type of character that supports the beliefs and practices of NCA.

Can I schedule an on-campus visit?
Yes. In order to understand the NCA Advantage you have to be here. Potential students are welcome to "shadow" a NCA student for a half day to see what being a Warrior is all about. Please contact the admissions office to schedule your visit. Also, check out our Warrior Preview Program for a 4th quarter preview opportunity.
Is it possible to enter mid-year?
We will always consider transfer students if they meet all the admissions criteria and there is space available, but generally we prefer not to take new students once the school year has begun.
How do I apply for tuition assistance?
NCA uses an independent third party to process all tuition assistance applications. A packet can be obtained from the business office once an application has been submitted and the application fee has been paid.
Is Northeast Christian Academy associated with or funded by a church or denomination?
NCA is a non-denominational Christian school that is tuition dependent.
Are teachers at NCA certified by the state of Texas?
NCA teachers are required by the Board of Trustees to be certified by ACSI (www.acsi.org). Most teachers at NCA are also certified by the State of Texas. In addition to the academic standards required for state certification, ACSI requires Bible study hours.
What curriculum does NCA use?
NCA teachers write curriculum using Abeka, Bob Jones, ACSI, and some secular text books as resources. All curriculum meets or exceed state requirements and all subjects are taught from a Christian worldview.
